Web Designer

A Fortune 500 with offices in Richmond, VA is seeking a highly creative Web Designer for an immediate, six-month contract position with long-term potential.  The ideal candidate will walk us through an exceptional portfolio showcasing a stellar eye for design, a mastery of Flash, and a passion for staying at the top of the latest interactive trends and software advancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm with members of the creative team including the Creative Director, Copywriter and Producer to develop email design strategies
  • Create or direct the creation of mock-ups
  • Create a variety of online media including ads, landing pages, web sites, and animation
  • Inspire and guide creative team to achieve greater technical efficiency for on line creative work with an eye toward creative innovation
  • Support new technology and at times support efforts of IT Programmers
  • Communicate design specifications and deliver final art files to the Developer
  • Understand creative best practices and effectively apply to overall business strategy
  • Provide artwork to support presentations; at times participate in presentations

Requirements:

  • 4 year College degree in Graphic or Interactive Design or closely related
  • Excellent portfolio must demonstrate exceptional design skills and creativity with a sound understanding of implementation on the web
  • Experience with email campaigns
  • Expertise in Flash with ability to master other dynamic web media
  • ActionScript skills a plus but not required
  • Intermediate Fireworks skills; ability to do batch processing
  • Must possess Advanced HTML and Photoshop skills and intermediate to advanced abilities with Dreamweaver, Illustrator and CSS
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently on design intense projects
  • Content Management System experience a plus
